Painting
I'm painting blue lines
I'm painting green lines
I'm painting red lines
Yes, I'm painting, I'm painting my ground
I'm painting straight lines
I'm painting curved lines
I'm painting crooked lines
Yes, I'm painting, I'm getting around
One of these days the light will be fine
One of these days I'll let it shimmer and shine
That'll be the day I'll work it all out
That'll be the day you will lose your doubt
Yes, one of these days you will stand in line
Shapes and colours
shapes and colours
impress the world
with shapes and colours
I'm painting tiny little dots
I'm painting bigger dots
I'm painting huge dots
Yes, I'm painting, I'm painting it all
I'm painting triangles
I'm painting rectangles
I'm painting octagons
Yes, I'm painting, I'm having a ball
One of these days the light will be fine
One of these days I'll let it shimmer and shine
That'll be the day I'll work it all out
That'll be the day you will lose your doubt
Yes, one of these days you will stand in line
Shapes and colours
shapes and colours
impress the world
with shapes and colours
One of these days I'll spread it all out
One of these days I'll make you scream and shout
That´ll be the day I will shake your spine
One of theses days I'll be your clown divine
There are so many things I can do
I paint with juice and I paint with glue
My pictures are getting bigger every time
One of these days I will drink your wine
Shapes and colours
shapes and colours
impress the world
with shapes and colours...
Oh yes!

Meeting People
(written by Halfblind Henry)
The other night I met Lili Marleen
standing in the feeble lantern light
I said: “I heard people talk about you”
she said: “you better get the story right
I never made a soldier happy
that ain´t my style that ain´t my class
I'm just standing here because they pay me
as I'm waiting for the dark age to pass”
I saw touchy Cinderella
sitting in the hippest bar downtown
Babbling on the phone, in her squeaky voice
I could see she had rehearsed her perfect frown
“You know the prince that I was dating
he was a jerk and I just had to quit
and those shoes he proudly gave me
they weren't cool andf they didn't even fit”
Down by the creek I met Long John Silver
killing water rats with his wooden crutch
I asked him about the famous treasure map
He said: “Another case of clever retouch
You know a dead man can keep a secret
and this one here, he surely will
So you may dig that hole a little deeper
I've got another rat to kill”
So what's the moral where there is no story?
Except to say that nothing's what it seems
You're obliged not to talk about it
once you get a glimpse behind the scenes
As you try to get along with everybody
you're mistaken by the people that you meet
Some of us are busy writing memoirs
some of us will make a living on the street
