I open the paper,
yes, I still read the papers,
though it´s mostly gibberish these days
I had to turn off the radio, they´re talking much too fast
They should be more careful, culture is fragile in many ways
I wish someone would send me something
Something built to last
I finally opened all the mail
Then I started a fire
and burned every reminder
What do they want?
They should know by now that I can´t pay
The dazzling news keep coming in
They´ve got my brain in a grinder
Oh, the riders of the real world
trample on my slumber
as they come in infinite numbers
This routine is getting ridiculous
accumulating rubbish,
watching frantic phantoms by the score
Now, there´s someone at the door
just someone to ignore
Exposed to multi media boredom
and the news reader´s pretentious sobriety
the news of the war,
and all the silly unkind people
this ludicrous society
lunatics running for office
the ever-demanding system,
the treadmill race
lethal jokers invading my time and space
Oh, here they come,
here they come again....
